I don’t know about you, but to me it is magical. Call me cheesy, call me silly - but it is nature at its best.
Brutal.
Best of films in 2010. Enjoy.
Google introducing the Chromebook.
Some trivia for you:
- it uses Google’s own operating system Chrome OS
- it has more memory space than any computer
- but no desktop, no patches and no need for anti-virus protection
Google says: it IS the Web!
Verdict: I want one!!!
Did you see the gorilla?! (Click-through)
Have you head of this experiment, my dear readers?
I only came across it today and I was amazed. Christopher Chabris and Daniel Simons did an experiment with a large number of people at Harvard University. They show a video (you can see it if you click-through) of some people passing a basketball around. They asked the viewers to count how many times the players in the white shirt pass the ball.
And in the middle of the video, a gorilla comes out, faces the camera and thumps its chest!
Do you know what is exciting? Over half of the people did not notice the gorilla. They were busy counting. This phenomenon became known as the ‘invisible gorilla’. This experiment shows the limits of our attention and intution.
PS - I like to think I would actually notice a gorilla!! (which is now one of my favourite words)
